I am 20 yrs old I bought a duplex 4 months ago for 147,600 its appraised at 148,000 so I got it at top dollar. I got financing on 80/20 80%@7.5 adjustable rate (will go up in 2 years guaranteed) and 20%@10.75 fixed rate. I will be paying interest for the first 2 months. I am losing $200 on this monthly w/ tenants living there. It's suppose to be my primary residence. Refi penalty for the 80 loan is $3600 and no penalty for 20%. So my question is I got a loan on stated income, I figured I am losing $200/month*24=4800 in 2 years interest only from my own pocket. If I refi now $3600 penalty and maybe $3000 closing cost (estimation) so that's $6600 loss which I can live with 6600-4800=1800 difference I can live with that. But if I refi 30 yr fixed rate I have very low income i am a college student can I get possibly better rates to lower my down payment, I want to refi 0% down fixed 30yr rate is that possible? I want some advice plz I don't want to go bankrupt in 2 yrs when rates go up!

I have read that many/most VISA/Mastercard merchant agreements prohibit merchants from requesting and/or recording additional ID from customers as a condition of sale, but I have frequently been asked to fax copies of my passport or other identification as well as a copy of the credit card itself to online vendors.

I am concerned about anonymous vendors having this sort of information in their possession - credit card information PLUS identification. Even if they have no malicious intent themselves, how can I be sure that they are safely deleting (or storing) my personal information?

at the time of the tip the person has no connection to the company or even stock market for that matter, however if after that the person decides to invest in the company is it still illegal and is the person liable? If the person is liable under what charges and cause (since technically he's not even a trader let alone an insider)

Account "went bad" in December and was turned over for collections in January. We've made small monthly payments since February, and received a notice from a new collection agency yesterday for the same account...apparently the first collection agency turned it over to another one.

At any rate, does an account have to be really old for a collection agency to consider settlement offers or does the fact that this account has been in collections less than a year really matter?

Also, I realize you can settle credit card accounts maybe, but can you settle other types of accounts, too? (Like, an old cable bill for example.)

I am currently a senior at a state university (will be graduating in December 2007) with around a 3.4 GPA with an undergrad in Finance/Economics. I am extremely interested in a career in investment banking or securities trading.

Does anyone currently work or know someone who works in these fields? I needed some information about the position responsibilities, education requirement, pay scale, difficulty of entry, etc.

Thank You.

Think of everytime you use your credit card these day. They gas pump, u-scan check outs, many times no one even looks at your card. To me, writing see id on the back is a lame attempt to place responsibility on another party. Isn't is just better to be responsible to know where your cards are and what to do if they happen to be stolen? What happened to being responsible in today's society?

I had defaulted on my student loan and they were harrassing me. My husband had recently passed away. I had no income, no insurance and had to have surgery. The District Attorneys office called and I had to meet with them. I managed to get a loan with the help of a friend and paid the student loan off. Now 2 years later, I receive a call that says I still owe a student loan. I don't believe this is true but I never received a letter stating the loan was paid. I don't know how to prove that the loan was paid.

I was working at this trucking company as a payroll clerk for the past 2 months. I quit Fri, because he boss and others acted like she didn't want to help me and I should already know what I was doing. I was new to that career field. I always met my deadlines and didan accurate job to the best of my abilities. The boss she is 28 and I'm 27, is a total *****, always yelling and cursing, making degrading remarks to me and about me to other employees. I confronted her in a professional way a week before i quit and the situatuion didn't improve. She made a comment to one of the drivers that "we were short on clerks and hired a new one and she isn't doing a very good job". She made a hostile environment to work in and I didn't want to be in that environement. I quit and sent a letter to her boss and to the southest regional, saying all that in a professional way. But I don't have much clerical experience and need the experience. Should I put this work experience on resume or leave it off?
