I currently have 2 single family homes which I have been renting (and reporting as such to the IRS) for the last 8 years. I understand the gain from the sale is counted as regular income and I hear that I must also add back the depreciation amts. claimed. Are all depreciation $ from past years counted as regular income as well? Is the gain computed from the amt the home was worth at the time it was put into rental service or the amount paid for the home (since I lived in it for 4 years prior to renting out)?
Is there any way to lower the tax burden since it will not be a like kind transaction, although the funds will be used to buy a vacation home which could possibly be rented out in off season?

I just started my web-based business 2 months ago, and am patiently waiting for it to take off. I have been researching ways to increase traffic to my site and don't have the budget for buying ranks on yahoo seaches or any of that software that is out there. Besides real-time advertisement ie Word of mouth, flyers etc. What else can I do?

I have a score of 566. My mom has a score of 639, but has been late on couple of payments in the past due to marital issues. So I am not sure what her chances are of helping me.

I work for a large church and we desperately need to have a system to inventory, manage and track office supplies.

We need to establish re-order points and start understanding how the church year (i.e. fall kick-off, Christmas, Easter, summer) affects the need for inventory so what's needed can be onhand and ordered for the best prices. We have good suppliers, but people just order whatever they want/need so there's lots of money to be saved.

I would love to see forms, lists, software, written instructions, policy, rules, methods. You get the idea!

Also, has anyone tried using MS Access Inventory Management template for this?

My husband and I got married this year. My employer payroll clerk told me in order to prevent any delays with the IRS,I would need to update my name which I did and I could still claim single and have my employer take out the highest amount taken out-which is 0
However,I think I should claim myself married and have them take out the highest single rate.
What direction should I go with in order to get the most money back as I want to update this soon.
I live in Pennsylvania if anyone would ask.

I am 22.I will soon be making money on my own working from home. I don't know anything about retirement. How much money should I save and what should I put this money into, a CD,a bond? I have no idea about these things. Also, does anyone know at what rate the cost of living rises each year? Is there an equation to determine how much money will be needed for me to retire when I get ready to?
