If you're on a long-term assignment for them, it would be right to give notice so they can replace you. Otherwise, not necessary, but don't accept an assignment that goes past the time you want to leave.
If you want to, you could tell them you're not going to be available, say, for the month of October, if you want to quit Oct 1 - this is true, would avoid them considering you for assignments then.... and then just not be available after that either, or later in October tell them you're not going to be available any more.
A temp job isn't like a permanent job, but you still don't want to burn bridges - you never know when you'll want to use them for a reference, or when someone from the temp agency might turn up as hiring manager for a future job you're applying for.

You don't need to give a 2 week notice however its advisable to give them some notice. Being you are a temp if you get full time employment I'm sure they would understand. However just not showing up or leaving an assignment in a void situation doesn't say much for you or the temp agency.
Golden rule, what would you want if you were managing or owned the temp company.

Do you have something else lined up? If not, give them two weeks. Tell them why you don't like what you are doing, and ask if you can be moved! Why go through the hassle or registering somewhere else? Plus, this way, you can still use them as a reference.

If you found another job or some other business to focus on, that's great. yes, let them know in advance. always be professional because you never know if you might work for them again, or if you might need a future reference from them.
