ok here's the deal. my parents own a number of houses and apartments. about a year ago they helped me to get my first place by putting the morgage under their name....even though i put the deposit down and pay the morgage. since they own multiple properties and buy and sell freqently....technically in order to avoid paying a bunch of taxes on it, they have to keep it for 2 years before they can sell it (1 more year left). however i would like to move onto another place. is there any way that they could transfer the condo under my name so i can put it on the market quicker?

I have about $45,000 in EE and I Savings Bonds I've purchased over the last 10 or so years. I am now retired, age 50. The bonds have current rates of 3% (most of them) to a few of them getting 9%. My last child is in her last year of college (so I can cash in many tax-free). Should I cash in some or most of the bonds and put them in a CD or mutual fund? I don't need the money, I'm just looking to make a slightly better return.

I called my health department so i can sched. an appt for my mother. The receptionist was being so rude. Although not many words were exchanged it almost sounded like she was frustrated.

This dept is for lesser fortunant. Do I have the right to go yell at her or in other words make a complaint. These people have to put up with major problems all day all they're life and when they go get checked they have to put up with people like her.

I almost want to say I do have the right.. but because not many words were said the only proof I have that she was being rude was my gut feeling and ofcourse her tone.

If receptionist are like that at work.. could they get fired??

my husband and i have bad credit, we are in credit couseling and have been for over a year, we are coming into some money and want to buy the house were in, we went to put some of that money down on our debts and the rest towards a house. our mortgage broker said we cant get a loan. we make good money and our debt is student loans and we also have a co signer that is willing to put property down on a loan for us. why is it so hard to buy a house. we pay more in rent than we would in a house of our own. and have never missed a payment or been late doing that. im really mad that this is so hard for us we just want a place to settle down with our kids.

How would you go about starting a concierge business? Would you begin part-time (for the sake of keeping you full-time job and salary in the beginning) or how else would you go about doing this (credit cards and bank loans are not an option)?

I am about to purchase a specialist all terrain cherry picker machine. basically this is to be hired out to do work at heights, such as tree surgery, sign fitting etc. As a side line when the machine is not being used i feel it could be used at residential homes for specialist cleaning of conservatories, clearing gutters etc. I am not sure if there is a market for this, or how I can begin to market it. Also what would people pay for this work (if at all). An honest appraisel would be appreciated
thanks

I temp for Verizon, and I'm already one year into a two-year contract. It would be wonderful to become a permanent employee for Verizon, and I'm wondering if there's a way to "sell" myself so that they'll hire me. I plan to stay here until I finish some sort of schooling, so they wouldn't have to worry about me turning around and quitting on them! School will take at least a year and I probably won't start until January, anyway. Any suggestions??
