Hi, we evicted our tenant after her one year lease was up (and she refused to sign the new lease), giving her 60 days notice. We said that she was to move out (i.e. evicted) because we wanted to take the property back for personal use. She moved out the end of August and now I have someone who would like to rent our place. Is there a time limit for when you use the property for personal use before you can rent again? I don't want to get sued for wrongful eviction or whatnot. thanks! p.s. I'm in ontario canada

I am a consultant with a Network Marketing based business. I do not want to try to debate the validity or whether it is a pyramid or not. Anyone who thinks so can research the direct selling association. My Question is...

I pay off my credit card bill every month and usually spend right up to the limit- I called to ask for an increase and they denied me, but they didn't decline my card when I went over and then charged me an overlimit fee. Is that supposed happen, legally? What the heck?

Specific Scenario:

1. Through my company's ESPP, I bought 1000 shares at price $10. At that time, the market price is $20.

2. Now about two years later, I'll sell it for the price of $30 per share.

Questions:

a. did I pay any tax on the $10 gain I made at the time I bought these shares?

b. what is my capital gain now? Is that 1000 x ($30-$10) or 1000 x ($30-$20)?

I have been told that if i send myself a name in the mail, and don't open the envelope then that is a "poor man's way" of patenting something. I was wondering how is this the case? What legal standings do i or would i have?
Is there a specific way of doing it and is it still valid to work in England, as this is where i live.
If anyone could tell me the exact way i go about patenting a name and slogan on the cheap then it would be much appreciated!
