Sole proprietorship license. I am applying for it tomorrow and have already bought over $3,000 in supplies.

Yes you can! If it's something you'll be using for the business , it's tax deductable....

to file a dba and business license you do not have to have stock of items you want to sell

you need to locate a place of business, rent it and then you go to the county building and file a dba, advertise your dba in a local paper for 30 days, then send documents to the couny clerk proving you file the ad in the newspaper, go to the city that your business is located in and apply for a license, telling them the information they request.....then contact irs for their requirements, employer id and other information they need.. contact telephone company, hook up the lights, and go from there
