If transfer balances from a credit card to a new credit card, does the new card take all of the debt that is requested or can they choose a portion of the debt and then you are left with two cards both having balances?

I have a felony on my record. I was young and stupid and lied for my (now EX-boyfriend) 5 years ago.
I am now on my own (thank God), raising my young son. I have a great job, etc. but am living with my parents for the past year.
I am trying to get an apt. for me and my son, but with a felony on my record, I am unable to find a place to live.
My parents have been a blessing (more than they know), but I need to move on and raise my son in our own place.
Every apt. I look at I hear the words, please complete for a background check. I hang my head and leave.
Any answers to my dilemma?
I don't know what to do at this point.

Hey all, ok so my current job sucks. I've found I get bored and burnt out really quickly. I was looking an admin job, but everyone wants you to have experience. Stupid Catch 22.... you have to have experience to get the job, but cant get experience without the job... huh? Anyhoozle. I'm considering temping but want to know if anyone does it and how it works. I'm worried that there could be a major laps between jobs and I might not make rent. Any thoughts (serious) would be greatly appreciated!

As far as I know if you make only so much like for example 3,000 a year you don't have to pay taxes. So what is the top limit when you have to start paying?

A friend of mine got a job offer in another state & is going to sell his house but would prefer to sell it to friends. He told me & 2 other friends that we have dibs on it if we want but they are married & have a reposessed car on their credit right now.
