Here’s the situation, wife wants to “hide” and protect money set aside for savings and retirement, etc. from husband with major gambling problem. Will having a savings or brokerage account in her name and a daughter’s name only be sufficient to protect from any “legal” proceedings (eg. Divorce, separation) or does the account need to be placed in a living trust or other estate planning tool? This issue seems to me that the money put away constitutes as “community property” in CA. CA is a community and no-fault divorce state.

I breed show animals. A past adopter of three animals signed a written agreement that had many stipulations, including that no animal(s) would be abandoned, and if she could/would not care for them, to contact us to reclaim them. She contacted me to tell me that she has released one of them into the wild cause he was unfriendly. I have informed her that I will be reclaiming the other two animals this weekend.

She is now threatening me with her "multi-million dollar lawyer father", and telling me she will have me arrested if I show up at her door this weekend.

Does she have any legal right to do this? If I go down to reclaim them, can I be arrested? Do I need to take her to court in order to obtain my animals? It seems very clear to me that she abandoned an animal, and said she would not.

Can anyone help with this?

How are bank employees paid, assuming that the money we (and corporations) put in the bank is ours/theirs. Where do banks get the money from to pay its employees?

I had an interview for a job that said the paid depends on Experinece. My question is should I ask how much they intended to pay for the position during the interview or after they decide to offer me the job.

I've never had a job before and I hardly know what I'll need to go through. I know that I need a resume, but I don't know what to put. I don't have any previous experience, I haven't done any volunteer work or anything like that, and my skills are extremely generic and common(like using a computer/internet, typing, etc). What can I put on my resume?

My boss is just really awful, mean, unpredictable, and irrational, and she makes work a living hell. But I have to stay on her good side to get a recommendation from her when I leave at the end of January! (In my field, you can't really make it without recommendations/ connections.)

So I have 5 months left, and it seems like an eternity of despair. Any ideas on how to survive without getting too crazy, stressed out, and bitter???

I've been told that it's all in my head and that really I'm not sexy at all. I've been told women don't like blondes and surfers but who here actually thinks I sound sexy. I'll give a description and try not to lie.

I'm 6'3'', blonde with brown eyes. I'm Australian and yeah I do surf. I'm not as pale as my avatar. I'm atheletic and trim and my teeth are straight. I can't think of anything else right now.
Now, i don't want to hear from bitchty men and no I don't have a photograph cos then everyone would recognise me and I wouldn't be able to ask all the dumb questions I ask.
And yeah i do have bad points, my nails are bitten down to the root and i do drink a bit too much at times but i'm sober now.
I'm really lazy as well.......but apart from that, who actually thinks I sound sexy or attractive?
Ultimately....are blonde guys that bad?

I have ten categories to file using a system I found in a finance book. They call for 10 manila folders labelled 1 to 10.
1)Giving
2)Savings, Investments
3)Taxes
4)Shelter
5)Household
6)Auto
7)Fun
8)Insurance
9)Debt, Miscellaneous
10)Business Expenses
The materials I have are 24 seperate manila folders alternating in left, middle, and right tabs. 8 left, 8 middle, and 8 right tabbed. I also have one big accordion style folder with 24 seperations, it has all the letters of the alphabet, IJ - PQ - UV - WX and YZ are together. The first half of the accordion style has12 pages which list each of the month of the year, and there is a portion where you can write in your own Tab Name to the right of each folder. But the tabs are Placed in the folder so there'd be no way of writing them in by hand while making them still look neat and organized at the same time. How would you file the ten categories?

We've been in the market for houses for the greater part of the last two years, and then I read this:

http://dsc.discovery.com/news/briefs/20060529/zeroehome_tec.html

I am amazed that this is an option (or soon to be) in the housing industry. I am looking for some answers that will guide me on who to contact (local gov't offices, private companies, etc.) officially about these types of purchases. I am not even sure there are empty lots available for residential purchase, since most of the empty lots I see are aimed at businesses.

Basically, I just want to know if this is a feasable alternative to just buying a house.

Thank you very much.

I recently shipped an item, which I packed myself, though I was told to let someone pack it professionally but I didn't want to pay for the extra expense. Well, the package arrived damaged and the claim I filed was not approved because of insufficient packing even though I bought insurance. Can I sue to get my money for the damage?

I know a company in Detroit area who has a discriminatory hiring policy. Some of their policies are,

They refuse to hire minorities with better education (some college experience) or leadership skills who has a potential for job advancement. Their excuse, “people from that background would leave us” (note: people from any background would go for better job offer).

They don’t hire people from a particular minority background anymore (seriously it was told by the manager).

Even when it comes to submitting the application form (or getting it in the first place) minorities often have to face with some obstacles (from the HR or managers) slowing or jeopardizing their chance to getting a job on that place.

People have to submit their SS# on the form but there's no mentioning of background checks on the form.

What do I do (I don't have access to a lawyer).

I cannot resist the urge to get an extra $20 bucks off a purchase by applying for a credit card. Then I pay it off and cancel the card. Does this hurt my credit rating? I bought a wet dry vac today at Sears and managed to get $25 bucks off by applying for a Sears card. When I do this I always pay the balance off within 30 days. Should I quit doing this? Should I cancel the card everytime?

Sunday, 10:00 a.m., store opened, about a dozen people were shopping. George & Ginny casually go up and down the aisles filling their basket and 45 minutes later end up at the register where they are sadly informed that the "computers are down and we cannot check anyone out. They have called the main office." In the meantime customers are coming and going. George asked if the wait would be long because he didn't want to put everything back but also didn't want to wait for several hours. "We don't know, we've closed the doors and aren't letting anyone else come in."
Ginny offered her great idea of simply writing by hand the SKU identification number of the merchandise and the cost, then adding it up, adding the tax, and letting people check out, "the old fashioned way." Everyone chuckled and continued to wait. Finally, George asks if he could at least put his name on his merchandise and ask them to call his cell when he can "check out."

What would you do as the store supervisor?
