My husband and I are planning to buy a house and we are getting preapproved. We went through two lenders (Lending Tree and AIG). I hear that each time you run a credit report it takes out 30 points? Is that true? Why does it drop at all? Thanks in ahead for the answers! This is our first home, if it makes any difference.

I am 22 years old with some college experience (no degree) I want to become a financial representative for any company. I applied with edward jones, smith barney and was rejected both times. I am self motivated and very driven to succeed. I have been selling insurance for the past for months but i'm not passionate about it. Any suggestions of companies that would give me a look or anyother advice would be greatly appreciated.

medical = $500 deductible each person/$1000 fam., $20. copays for reg.doctor visits, $40 copays for specialists.

vision = $10 copays for exam & corrective wear

rx = $10 generic/ $30 brand name.

dental = free cleanings , then you pay 20%, they pay 80% on most things.

I'm a school teacher in a rural Nevada county. You'd think a group plan with my employer would be the best thing, but I'm not sure.

Plan to invest 10% of salary. Planning for the long term. I know enough about economics not to get too scared about short term fluctuations. I basically want to maximize very long term returns with a reasonable amount of risk.

What sort of combination of small/mid/large cap + value/blend/growth should I go for.

Any comments on tech in the long term, as well as International vs US investments highly welcome.

I'm so nervous. I'm waiting for a call from a financial institution about a job. They said to call them, but when I did, the person I needed to talk to was out of the office and would be back between 1pm and 1:30pm. Should I call her back or just wait for her to call me? I mean I work at this job as a CNA and we answer call lights and make rounds on the Geriatrics that reside at this facility, and everybody just seems to go to sleep. I stay awake and try to answer all of the call lights, but this is a big facility and I can't be everywhere at once. What would you do; especially when you know that the one's who are sleeping are the bosses favorites????
