I mean I work at this job as a CNA and we answer call lights and make rounds on the Geriatrics that reside at this facility, and everybody just seems to go to sleep. I stay awake and try to answer all of the call lights, but this is a big facility and I can't be everywhere at once. What would you do; especially when you know that the one's who are sleeping are the bosses favorites????

Absolutely!! While "whistle-blowers" aren't popular you ought to file a formal report and then ... follow up! Bottom line = every body has a boss!! This place has cash supporters, or a board of some sort. Maybe the "boss" you refer to is the real culprit!

These sleeping "workers" are jeopardizing the health and safety of everyone - you included!!

Damn skippy I'd report them! If your boss does nothing about it, then go to her boss. It's not fair for you to do all the work, and them get paid for sleeping. Besides, you're all in the health care business... people's lives depend on each and every one of you being alert and ready to go... not sleeping.

I understand what you are going through. My suggestion is to talk to your supervisor and let her make a surprise visit one night. This is a dangerous thing for the patients as well as the main cause for skin breakdown. If you still dont feel it will work you have the right to resign or notify the state.

I would report this not that you wanna snitch or anything but if its making you work double then its diffrent or you just might want to tell these people about it first and if they sont do any better than do whatcha gotta do and report it.

I would report them anonymously to the top dogs. Not your boss. That way you don't jeopardize your position. I know if my relatives were there I would want to know that they are being well taken care of.

You really should report it. they are there to work, and should be working regardless of the time. They probably chose that shift. You shouldn't have to do all the work nor is it safe.
