Someone that I look up to told me that you should not base your career moves on "liking" the people you work with. He said they come and they go. What do you all think?

Ok I have a car that I signed for my ex and he left me with the payments. I am 3 months late and I can't afford to catch up or make payments on the car. I have been trying to sell it but people want lower than what I am asking and I can't pay the difference The buy out amount is for 7100 on a 98 z28 camaro, should I voluntarily repo it?

I am 23-yrs. old and I am desperately trying to repair my credit. I have paid down all my collection accounts except for two medical bills totaling $1800.00. These two accounts are 4-years old. However, I have recently obtained an auto loan and a secured credit card as of April 2006. I pay both before the due date and I pay the complete balance on my secured credit card. My credit score has moved from 580 to 620.

I also have student loan accounts that are in deferment. In all I have only 4 open accounts in good standing. What do I do now? I was wondering should I apply for a department store charge card to gain another open account or should I try to pay my medical bills in collections? I know that they have already harmed my score but I don't have the $1800.00.
Would I be able to get a department store card w/ a 620 score. I would appreciate any help I can get. I am graduating from grad school soon and I'd like to have a more favorable score for large purchases.

We have credit cards and I have cut them up already, but it seems like I'll never get them paid off. It's discouraging. Any pointers to keep me on the right track

I work for an attorney and he’s a complete child, when he wants something he wants it now and won’t shut up until he gets it. I' am his personal assistant and I like what I do but I don’t think I can but up with someone who is constantly changing his mind and whining about everything.

i.e.

He wants something done but he hasn’t paid the bill and he refuses to pay it even though it is plain and clear that he owes the money. This is the same guy who puts a lean on client’s homes and then forecloses on them when they can’t pay his exaggerated bill.

Are you currently at work responding to the question (although there wasn't an initial question)? If you are at work responding, shouldn't you be working?

I am changing jobs and I want to take out my 401k to help with some outstanding debts. It is worth about 23,000.00 but I owe around $2000 on a previous loan, so that brings it down to about 21,000.00. My employer will hold out 20% for taxes and a 10% penalty....adding my 401k to my estimated yearly earning, my total taxable income is about 55,000.00 +/-. We have 5 dependents and have never made enough to have to pay taxes. What is the likelihood of having to pay taxes on this lump sum distribution?

There is a repo market for the OTR and all the olds. And, let's assume, a new issue has been announced, which is now trading in w.i. Is there a repo market for it? To put a repo or a reverse repo, the collateral needs to be "delivered", and, since the new issue can only be "delivered" after the issuance, how is this possible?

I'm interested in researching publicly-traded companies whose philosophy and products encourages freedom. Any resources I could use?

There are thousands of public companies and I dread having to reinvent the wheel by researching every single one of them if there already is a white paper, website or index already out there for this purpose.

Any suggestions?

I bought a car last year, but my mom was the person who "really" bought it meaning she signed on for the loan. I pay for the car every month. Could I still sign on as a co-signer to build credit? I'm 21 and the loan of the car was like $42,000. I don't think the bank would give me a loan for that much, so I had my mom sign on. I also heard that if you're a student and you have a few big purchases (such as cars) then your financial aid can become lower, one of the other reasons I didn't sign on. Is this true?
