Here is a great site to advertise on
http://www.wallaroundtheworld.com
as far as the news, try your local papers sometimes the will do free stories on up & coming neighborhood businesses, otherwise just advertise in them. Good Luck!

1. Send a press release to the local paper that sounds like an article on a subject of interest. Focus on the subject, not on your website. At the end of the article, you will put your name and website, etc. At some point in the article, you can mention how businesses such as yours are addressing the issue at hand. How convenient.

2. Submit yourself to the business section of the paper, for "new businesses" or whatever the section is titled.

the journalist or news collector are best sources or
hire a pr agent ,a retired jornalist is best

remember u r news only if u are unusual
make a story around your message and come to it indirectly

like give the story of a ficticious character who struggled because he didnt have the right info and then he came across the site and so on...

remember u are the only one interested in the news
for others its good only if it adds value
si figure out how they wud look at it
