We are relocating to the Murrieta/Temecula area in a few months, and my husband will be looking for an auto technician position there (10 years experience, ASE certified master tech). Any techs here who work in that area know what the pay is like?

However, here's the catch 22. I pay off all of my debt, which after some time, looks GREAT on paper....however...bad for the bank because then my downpayment money will be gone!
My debt is not bad at all - $5000 max (1 cc and 2 student loans), Is it a bad idea to go into a home with that much debt, even though i'm making the timely payments?

I will be starting school soon, and I would like to know any ideas for a part time job where I can make a decent amount of money. It's not that I'm greedy, just that I have friends living all over the states and in Japan and I would like to be able to afford to travel extensively.

should I let the mortgage bankers take it back (I'm only 18 months into a 60 month lease)? Is it like a car repo where they sell the car and sue you for what's left (I personally signed)? I know the equipment won't cover what's owed

I had to fire a girl today for stealing money. I fell terrible about this, particularly because she's an otherwise decent person and a single mother. I had a great working relationship with her and when I caught her stealing, it broke my heart. To make matters worse, when I told her I had to let her go, she started crying and didn't argue with me. She signed her termination paper without making a statement and then left.

I feel bad for both her and her children and for the fact that she now won't be able to pay her rent.

Has anyone here ever had an experience similar to this? And if so, what did you do to find peace of mind?

I owe for state tax on a newspaper route (machines and dealers not home delivery)which I no longer have but I owe for taxes last year. I have a 1099 from last year which I used for my government taxes and I wanted to know if I could just use that to figure out my state tax that I owe instead of trying to figure out each quarter. I also have to deduct what I was paid from my dealers(7-11, Hess...etc) since the tax was paid on their papers already. I'm trying to get this done easily and quickly. just paying 1 amount would be easiest.

My mom’s estate (401K) makes an annual contribution to a BrightStar account we’ve set up for the kids. The money that went into the 401K is untaxed. Obviously, we must pay taxes on this.
I received a 1099-R from the trust. It appears we should complete a form 5329 - but in reading the instructions, 5329 does not seem to include this scenario. Would it be easier if I just add the 1099R to all my other 1099s and just report it as income?

I'm not sure of which stores a 16 year old could work at. I think I would like to be a sales associate or something of that nature. I like pretty much everything! I am very responsible and want to have fun but I'm willing to work too! I just would like to known which stores actually hire 16 year olds because I think it would be too time consuming to go around asking every store. Maybe some can help? Thank you!
