careerbuilder, monster or another one like those?

I know the internet shouldn't be the only job hunting source. I just wanted to know how successful other people were in getting a job that they happened to find posted online.

Most of the jobs posted at those websites are from recruiting agencies. Its a waste unless you can get hold of the recruiter (at the recruiting firm) who was in charge of that job listing. A little persistence can pay off.
Make the extra phone call....bug them a little. They are recruiters...they want to place people...but its tough sometimes to get their attention with a fax/email.

The best way to get a job is to go onto a website for that particular career, or simply apply to the places you would really like to work at and follow through with them after giving them your resume. Several of my jobs I got by following through. One actually wasnt going to hire me, but I called them and they changed their minds! Anyway, no, monster is not a good way to go about getting a job. Millions visit that site everyday.

I found my job on craigslist.org. I had a friend who told me that the site was a great place to buy kids stuff. Well, I would browse the employment section and a few months later I came across an ad for my job. I also met someone else who found a job through craigslist.org.

There is alot of BS on the site, but you just need to weed through it.

I definitely are becoming employed with the aid of jobs from my community papers and that i've got used craigslist. I in basic terms have been given a call as we talk for a interview from a job i got here across on craigslist. Monster is in basic terms sturdy for persons who've levels, Yahoo Hotjobs is horrific and that they've jobs from MONTHS AND MONTHS in the past, its no longer that as much as date, Careerbuilder is superb notwithstanding I definitely have not got here across a job with the aid of them. On craigslist I definitely have been sending out resumes and a catalogue of references.

I applied and got a job through careerbuilder.com this past month.

Other places are jobs.com and gadball.com, but they mirror all the other sites out there.

Now... ask the questions "Has anyone ever applied for a job through a temp agency and got a call?" I swear they don't read their email.

This website has some statistics about job searches and how folks find their jobs. It's interesting.
