The bank is closed on Sunday, and the help desk in the shopping mall was closed.

I'm going to have to go to the bank tommorrow and tell them about it and provide identification.

Don't panic. It happens, Just go to the bank. They will retrieve your card for you.

If I can get the buttons to work, I would purposely put in a bad PIN so the machine will take the card. I'd feel more comfortable walking away knowing it was confiscated than possibly retrievable by a passerby.

Edited to add: I would probably ask the bank to cancel the account completely and start a new one. You can talk to the bank manager and sometimes they will start you off at the same check number so you don't start over from "001" again. (if that account is tied to a checking account).

Nothing else to do but go to the bank. You answered your own question. I would call your bank's 24 hour service line and have them cancel your card just in case it pops out and somebody tries to use it- if not to get money from your ATM, but to charge to their heart's content if it's also a credit card.

You have to go back to the bank and show them ID. ATM's take your card all the time. When they open on Monday they collect them and put them in a safe place until you claim it
