Have you ever gotten a positive response by asking somebody if they wanted to sell their out-of-state property? We're tired of renting, and I'm thinking of sending a letter to several people with property we consider attractive, asking them if they'd be interested in selling...most, but not all of them are not living around here. The ones who do live around here - should we mail or call them?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd like to know if other homebuyers especially of fixer-uppers are having trouble getting the property they are going to buy insured. How did you get the mortgage and close on the property? I'm about to pay for a FAIR plan which is sooo expensive just so we could close. Any other way? We are closing soon so there is a time element involved. We lost so much time looking for insurance agents willing to cover. By the way, it's in the northern Baltimore area.

I only take home 500/week and my bills exceed that... I just can't get ahead. My credit is horrible and I can't take out a loan and/or borrow from anyone. I have a $300 car payment, and pay all the utilities, incedentals, food, clothing, gas, etc... My husband pays the mortgage and taxes. I live paycheck to paycheck and always end up with either nothing or a negative balance. I am at my wit's end... I've tried selling stuff on ebay, etc.. but no one wants to buy my crap! I have 2 teen age kids and a very strained, unhappy marraige. I have too much clutter, am overweight and a recovering alcoholic. I am at my wit's end. I go for therapy but nothing helps. I don't know what to do. I want to do the right thing, but feel like things are just out of control. Can someone offer some serious, honest, and helpful advice? I'd be forever grateful. Thank you.

I have a reasonably well numerated job currently, but I'm sick of working for people who are just riding our departments coat tails for their own personal advancement. However I respect our team alot and feel like I would be effectively doing the same to them. My own business will be something that will take several months work by me to get the product to market, I should be able to get it running for under 10,000 gbp, incase you were wondering.

Tonight at work, I was $48 under in my float when I counted the money at the end of my shift.
I panicked, and grabbed $50 out of my wallet to make the difference and keep myself out of the bad books. I feel like I'm screwing myself over just to save face.
Did I do the right thing?

Other than hot air is there really any point to them, communication aside? If someone wants to know how people are getting on, why not just go to them and ask?

I am having an interview at a hospital Monday. I'm not sure how much they are willing to pay me an hr but I have heard they are paying $10/hr more than what I am currently making. I have a little more than 4 yrs experience & I am certified. How do I go about trying to get them to pay me close to that instead of just settling? What do I say without letting them know that I know how much she is making? And should I let them know how much I am currently making if they ask? I really don't think that is none of their business but I don't want to tell them that. How do I go about this without shorting myself. Any tips or suggestions would help me! Thanks.

I worked a the headquarters of a big food corporation for 6 weeks. It was a temporary position with an "unkown" period of time. I told my boss that if he cuts me, just to let me know about 2 weeks ahead, and he said that is what he usually does. I got the job through the company not a temp agency. Yesterday, which is Friday, 10 minutes before Im about to leave he calls me in his office and tells me thank you your job is over, here is your check. I was like, huh. I felt speechless that I didnt even ask for a reason. I get along with my coworkers and they were shock when I told them the news. I recieved no notice at all. Not too many people in my department like my boss, he is not caring, and does not have people skills. Just graduated college 2 months ago and now I am unemployed.

Which is a better investment and will give you the most interest? I was considering putting some money in the bank. I will not need it for a while and I would be most concerned with the interest rates. Please tell me about these and which is better to invest in?
