We started a carpet cleaning business in June and it has been a really slow start--has anyone started a business and how long before it became profitable?

One of the tenants in a California triplex building I own wants to buy a house and applied for a mortgage loan. Currently he is witholding rent due to an alleged maintenance issue. The lender sent me a "Verification or Rent/Mortage" form. Is there any legal requirement requiring me to complete the form?

Ok, my husband works and she works, make the same money, but I don't work, I stay home and take care of my daughter and my house and keep the hubby and the bestie happy by keeping them organized. What is the best way for us to divvy up for 3 adults and one child? Including cable, electricity, rent, rental insurance, water??? Who pays for me? Do they half up? Or am I a 3rd person whom someone is responsible for? I definitely feel I earn my keep by going above and beyond. A well written budget plan would be a definite bonus, if ya could?! He is always saying hatefull things about other co workers, and verbally attaked one of them today. However when I tried to talk to him about it, he refuses to even look at me. I tired to explain to him that it is not apporate to approch a situation that way and if there is a problem he needs to come talk to me. I will talk to the other person. But he wont budge, and says it is done and walked away. What should I do?

I signed a lease for a house in Seattle, and paid the deposit with a check. I never got a receipt, nor did the landlord give me a lease with his signature on it. The week before I was supposed to move in, my mother got sick and had to have surgery. I had to go be with her and so had to cancel on the lease. I never moved in. The landlord told me over the phone that he would send me back the money, but when I tried calling him the next day, he would not return my calls. I started to worry that he might not send back the money, so I checked with my bank and was able to put a "stop payment" on the check. Now the landlord is threatening a lawsuit and wants the deposit plus extra money for his "time." According to Washington State law, the landlord should have at the very least given me a receipt for the deposit and given me a lease with his signature on it. I never got either. Should I worry about his threats?

What would you do if you wanted to buy a business and the person you want to buy from acts like they dont' want to give you any info on it until you buy it?? Maybe like a vending machine route. Seller doesn't want to tell you where it is so you can go look at the machines to see what condition they are in. Do you think I should ask to prove financial information such as expenses/profits, etc.??? Anyone have any idea on the most practical business way of approaching these issues??

Rinker has droped dramatically ~~". And it's target price for this year somewhere $80. Now share price has gone to somewhere $50. The company still has strong finance and maybe FED not going to raise interest again. I think I will be probably recover. Do you think so?

I work at a place called sweettooth and i havent been working there for very long, actually sunday was my first day, unfortunatly my mother fell very ill the first day of work and yesterday i found out she had to have surgery, so anyway to my point..i told my manager which by the way happens to be a 16 year old girl that i needed to be off at 1 even tho my shift was from 10-5, because i had no one to sit with my daughter who was being watched by my father who needeed to be at the hospital with my mom...she looked at me like i was stupid. later she and fellow co workers went to get food, after they ate i asked one of them to take over for me so i could go on break and use my phone because thats the only time u can use it. so she did and i called my dad to ask about mom and to let my fiance kno that i wouldnt be there to meet him for lunch, manager came out and said well i clocked u out so u can go cuz all u want to do is talk on the phone!!!!! she is such a little *****

I owe about 7k on a credit card. The CC company turned it over to a collection company. I found out today that the collector called my wife (Other than being married to me, has NOTHING to do with the card. It's not in her name, she doesn't use it, she doesn't have her own, etc.) The collector left a VOICEMAIL on her phone the amount past due, the account #, etc! We live in Michigan... It is my understanding that they can only talk to ME about the information.... they can only ask where to find me when they call friends/relatives. Did this collector do something illegal? If so, any advice on what to do about it from here? Thanks.

Financial difficulties left me with credit card debt. Some came off my credit report after 7 years. Since then I've paid balances in full and done everything to keep my credit in good condition. I rec'd a notice from a debt collection group on 2 accounts that are no longer on my credit reports. I'm not sure how to respond or if these can become part of my credit rating if not paid.
