In a 2006/2007 global survey Asuncion in Paraguay is the cheapest city to live ranking 144th with New York at 1st place. Other cheap cities include Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Caracas in 142nd place, 138th and 136th respectively.
In the US, Winston Salem is the cheapest city surveyed, ranked 124th.
