I'm in debt for about $25000 and that's not even including my car payments, insurance or rent. I'm through using credit cards but **** just keeps happening. At this point, I don't care too much about my credit since I can't afford anything else, I won't need anything else.

We relocated from CA to GA in February. When I called my landlord in march, he mentioned that he had to replace the carpet in the whole apartment which cost him $1500 (our deposit was 1150). I have since tried calling him but he never returns my calls.

The carpet needed replacing even before we moved in, so I dont believe we need to pay for it (or atleast the whole amount). Also I had requested for him to do a walkthrough of the apartment before we left and he said he never does that with any of his apartments. I researched CA rental law, and sent my landlord a detailed letter outlining my concerns, the law and the procedure for not refunding a security deposit (none of which he followed.)

I received the letter back yesterday as unclaimed? How do I proceed now.

Fidelity is the investment company my company uses for their 401k plans. The Fidelity website I visited just confused me. I don't understand all that mumbo-jumbo. I really don't know exactly how 401k works. I need to be able to make an informed decision soon, or I have to forfeit starting a 401k account for this fiscal year. I am interrested in investing in something that is going to yield a fair profit steadily over a long period of time. Also, I don't want to risk losing the money I put into this account, or worse, lose more than what I put in! Is there a sweet compromise between risk and profit? I need some answers in layman's terms, as I am in unfamiliar territory.

We have it 1/2 paid off & put more money in repairs than payments. We bought it used from a dealer. (2001 PT Cruiser) The warranty expired 60 days after we purchased it. In the warranty period there were transmission problems & they fixed it for free. Since the warranty expired, the timing went. The water pump went. The alternator went. Now this car is overheating & we can't find the problem. We tried everything. It's not the high speed or low speed relay. Not the fuses. Not the thermostat. Not the fan motor. We want the problem gone. We have already sunk almost $4000 in repairs into this car. I am afraid of it going on our credit record.
