I don't think that there is really an age limit. If you are old enough to have a checking account, you can get a debit card. Most banks have regulations on how old you have to be to have a checking account, and most checking accounts these days come with a debit card. So, qualify for one and you qualify for the other.

You can get debit card in most states at 18. But, in some states there is such thing as a high school account card, and you can use that under your parents name, but it's your own card and your own money. So between 16 and 18, and then 18 on. Ask your local bank about the high school program for debit cards.

18 to open a checking account; unless you're co-signing with a parent/legal guardian. In most cases the bank will distribute a temporary ATM card. Then in about two weeks or so you'll get the debit card.

age doesnt matter.. if you are under 18, just as long as you have a bank account open by your parent for you, then you could request a debit card cause your parent co-signed for you...

I'm pretty sure you need to be old enough to have your own checking or savings account. Any age really, but I am sure if you are too young, your parents would have to authorize it.
