Hair - December 2007

I have to get surgery in two weeks because i have 2 holes in my skull and they need to put a metal plate to cover them. and they said they are going to shave a 1" by like 6" section so they can make a "s" like incision so once the hair grows back you wont be able to tell. or i can not have it shaved and then they have to cut a straight line, so i will have a permanent part in my hair there. but its on the top of my head so i think my hair will just fall over it and you will only see the part if i cut my hair short.

any thoughts/suggestions??

Hi, I recently turned 15 and have had my hairloss on my mind for quite a long time. I started to lose hair when in the 8th grade and I would like to know how to prevent this premature balding. My hairline has noticably receded and it is easy to see right through my hair to my scalp. I do not like this at all and would like to know how can I get rid of this problem.

Hey people i am a 19 yr old guy and recently cut my shoulder-length hair to much a shorter length. However i have been losing a few hair in the shower while shampooing and conditioning my hair. Today i also noticed a few hair on my pillow. Is this much hair loss normal or not ?

My hair is falling out and I think it's because of my thyroid medication: Synthroid. I'm going to start taking Armour Thryoid but in the meantime how can I get my hair back?

I was thinking rogaine, but are there any other methods?

I'm contemplating a bob because I dyed my hair quite a bit this year and as a result I have the split ends from h-e-double-hockey-sticks. I have already taken two inches off my hair, and still have 3-4 inches of split ends left. I have had my hair shoulder-length in the past and it has looked awful, so my options seem to be deal with the split ends or chop my hair short. Can I manage to cut it off and look good? If you can link me to a picture of a style to take to the hairdresser, that would be great, too. Thanks!

I have been to several ethiopian hair salons where they set my hair on concave tension rollers that had little grips on them. I was told they came from either Africa or Italy and had to be ordered. Does anyone know where I can get them from? I am in Atlanta but will pay to have them sent.

My cousin chopped all of my hair off while I was sleeping...it looks hideous, especially in the back...very chopped up in the back and looks awful...how should I go about growing it out long again? Information is greatly appreciated.

a day after washing my hair it already feels wet and oily.
i obsess about it and then i asked my mom and she said my hair looks perfectly fine.
btw my hair is kinda thick and has natural wave.
is it possible that my hair could be that awful after one day or is it just my ocd (YES i have ocd).

Okay I have this big -thick- curling iron, just as I was told to buy to get hair with bigger curls like Miley Cyrus's hair, but everytime I heat it up and curl my hair with it, it only curls the bottum, I want it curled like that the whole way up like this -> http://www.teenidols4you.com/blink/Actors/miley_cyrus/miley_cyrus_1180279584.jpg but I can never seem to get it like that, and yes my hair is long like her's and yes Im holding it in to heat for more than 50 seconds, So my question is, how can I make it work? Hi, awhile ago, over the span of 1-2 years maybe, i have been using a really harsh shampoo that caused my hair to fall out drastically. Once i noticed there are parts of my scalp that had really thinning patches of hair (places where, incidentally i placed the shampoo with my hands when massaging it in), i panicked and stopped using it. That was a little over a year ago. Since then, the company that made the shampoo suspiciously changed the formula, bastards....

Anyway, i was just wondering will my hair ever return to normal? Those areas are still quite thin, and it has been over a year since i switched over to natural shampoos, and for the greater part of my life my hair has been unbelievably thick (it still is in the other areas, which makes my hair look unbalanced and weird because of the thinning areas). Or, would this chemical damage initiate a premature onset of Male pattern baldness? (since i am a guy anyway, and some of the thinning areas are on the top of my scalp)

My friend introduced it to me around 7 months ago, promising me that it was a great iron. when i tried it, even with protection serum, it fried! It doesn't even have a temperature setting! That is why it fries, you don't even know how high the temp is, and you can't use it on your bangs!
