Pick a shade only 1-2 degrees lighter or darker than your natural shade. Then you can't go wrong...

I also have dark hair but right now I am stuck on this one color I have it's by Color brilliance ION color is Light brown. It looks really good on my skin tone (im a little dark too) You can find it at sallys baeuty supply. It has a slight shade of brownish red in the light.

dye it a rich chocolatey golden brown.
that's what a lot of girls are doing at my school.
add a few chesnut and golden highlights, and that'd be amazing.
