It's normal to lose a few hairs daily. After all, once a hair grows out of the follicle, it's dead. Now if you find tufts of hair on your pillow or towel, the it's time to worry. Ask you local pharmacist about vitamins or hair loss products like shampoos and conditioners that make the hair appear more healthy and thicker. A good healthy diet and cut the junk food may help some, too. Being over stressed may have something to do with excess hair loss. A visit to your doctor may be a good thing, too.

The average person loses 100 hairs per day. Losing a few in the shower/while you sleep is totally normal.
If you really do believe you're losing your hair, though, you have options.
1. Rogaine. Has been proven to slow, stop, and even reverse hair loss in certain people. Is one of the few treatments that is FDA approved.
2. Finasteride. A pill.
3. Hair transplantation. Some of the hair from the back and sides of your head (which doesn't fall out for some reason) is moved to the top. Its still your hair. It still grows.
4. I read in Men's Health magazine that the Selenium in dandruff shampoo can reduce hair loss by 8%-10%.
5. I also read that the Swedes have invented some pretty encouraging laser technology.........

Make sure you're getting enough B vitamins, especially B-12.
I am frequently anemic and I lose handfuls of hair in the shower. If I take my vitamins and exercise, my hair is thick, full and more white. I stop losing my hair in the shower.
When I lose my hair, it's tons. I can kill a vacuum, have to dig it out of the shower drain, even though I've thrown big balls in the trash. It's all over my carpets, clothes, it's everywhere.
I would do better to keep taking my B vitamins, I just get sick of taking pills. My hair loss stops when I take about 1200 mcg of B-12 per day. I also have a history of anemia, smoking and autoimmune issues.
Try a B-100 vitamin. Hair loss is a sign of many things. Get a blood test. You could be anemic, hypothroidic, diabetic, etc.
