I have to get surgery in two weeks because i have 2 holes in my skull and they need to put a metal plate to cover them. and they said they are going to shave a 1" by like 6" section so they can make a "s" like incision so once the hair grows back you wont be able to tell. or i can not have it shaved and then they have to cut a straight line, so i will have a permanent part in my hair there. but its on the top of my head so i think my hair will just fall over it and you will only see the part if i cut my hair short.

any thoughts/suggestions??

sounds like they recommend the S shave and the S incision for a reason. Hair normally doesn't grow over scar tissue. A straight incision might be more difficult. Especially if your hair has a natural cowlick and the incision was opposite of your natural fall.

I've changed my part many times over the years. I would prefer to deal with shorter scars and more flexibility.

The straight incision will force a part. I would opt for the S shave and grow my hair, 'cause I'm a vain female.

Although you are in a kind of scary position at the moment, and both choices are intimidating, no matter which one you chose, it should be all right. If you can't handle the thought of shaving your head, you *don't* have to.

But I probably would, just so I could have the surgery, grow my hair back the way it was, and forget about it. I was picked on a lot growing up, so I'd be anxious about people's reactions, but still, I think any worthwhile human being would admire your guts more than they'd care about your haircut.

If the idea of having shaved hair freaks you out, go online and look up photos of pixie cuts. They're cute + sexy hairstyles that my sis had for a long time. You won't have to wait long for your hair to grow back to that length or longer.

P.S.--Is there any way you can talk to other people who have had the procedure???

Just shave it - it will be easier to keep the incision clean and nobody wants an infection in their head. Then get some hot wigs - you can change your hair style everyday that way!

relies upon on the guy. i think of a few adult adult males with shaved heads are warm, yet maximum women appear like CRAP with shaved heads. Its a count of decision. while you're going bald, you may wanna shave all of it! LOL.

dude, my suggestion is that you shave your full head because shaving make new hairs grow.

have them shave it and buy lots of pretty scarves. i would rather suffer for a couple of months than to deal with it forever.
