Hair - March 2007

I am a former chemotherapy patient. The treatment left me hair less. My family and I are going to Florida for vacation. I want to wear my wigs on the beach. Some are real hair and others are fake. I was wondering if it would be safe for the wigs if I wore them in the water? I know pool water can ruin them (mainly because of the chemicals) but what about ocean water? Most would say to just do without them. But not wearing my wigs would make me insecure and make me look sickly. I wanna enjoy the beach and weather without destroying my wigs. Would the sea water hurt them?

How do you use a curling iron to make big curls? (Sort of like Goldilocks curls.) Whenever I do it, I wrap a section of hair around the barrel, roll it all the way up to the top, put the clamp down, then wait about 15 seconds and unroll it, and it never works right! Help!
