I think it depends on your hair type honestly b/c I have thick hair and when I straighten it I can just tell it burns the end of my hair and I even use all the expensive chi products on it. But then again I have a friend who has thin hair and she can blow dry it and straighten everyday and it doesn't effect her hair in anyway. I used a straightner all through out high school and now my hair will barely grow and its still damaged from using a staightner on it 2 yrs ago.

I was always told that hair dye was really bad for your hair, especially if you did it a lot. But then I read an article that now a days, hair products have come such a long way that todays products can actually be good a moisturizing for your hair.
Anyways, I have a feeling that hair straighteners could possibly be similar. I straighten my hair every day and actually think it feels so much healthier afterwards. Heat makes it a lot softer. It's been about 5 years since I started and haven't seen any negative affects. To stay safe, just make sure you are using conditioner. Maybe even a leave in conditioner could be beneficial, depending on your hair type.
Good luck!

Yah straightening your hair with a straightener is bad for you.
It dries your hair out!
My mom said that using a blow dryer to straighten your hair is LESS damaging!
or you can buy a new kind of straightener. Cuz' there are good straighteners out there!

It is actually bad for your ends.. I have naturally curly hair and I used to straighten my hair a whole lot and my hairdresser ended up telling me.. it damaged my hair because of the heat from the iron and all the products you put into it.

Straighteners with ceramic are terrific for hair. They do the least injury, make the hair comfortable, marvelous, and not frizzy, and that they are rapid and straightforward to apply. i take advantage of a chi, yet exceptionally plenty all ceramic straighteners are the comparable. you ought to additionally use some warmth keeping spray, hair cream, or shampoo.

ceramic straighteners are either no harm at all or barely harmful. but thsoe are the best kind to use! if you have gotten your hair colored by bleach, the bleach will fry your hair starting at the ends, working it's way up. straightening, no matter what kind of straightener you use, will definately fry your hair.

I think it's bad but if you have moderation it'll be okay. Try diffent hairstyles once in a while, that way you are not so dependent on a straightener.

It truly is bad! Which is unfortunate, because I love the way my hair is when it's straightened and I hate it's natural texture. :(

its bad for your hair, basically drying it out. but you can buy a spray/serum that will protect it from the heat. if you continue to straighten your hair without protecting it, it might break off like mine :(
