It's the same way. Just follow the instructions. Just make sure you did not irate your scalp the day before. if you did, apply a hair dressing to the scalp. Section your hair in fours. (+) Start at the back near the neck and work up. Then the other side. Then do the sides and front and your hair line is last. Make sure you smooth your hair correctly. Using either the palm of your hand or the back of a comb or a perm brush. This is how your hair will become straight. Don't comb the relaxer through your hair. You will scratch your scalp and also snap your hand. Take your time but watch the clock for application time.

Most people will say that you really probably should be going to a professional for this, but yes it is just as easy. I relax my own hair and have for years. I use Motions Oil Moisturizer Relaxer. Just remember to be careful about timing, follow the times recommended on the jar for your hair type and make sure that you are not overlapping the relaxer over the previously relaxed hair (do the new growth only). Rinse thoroughly, get someone to help you rinse the back if you can and use a petroleum base around the hairline, nape of neck and ears before you begin application. Basically the same precautions that you would take with a no-lye relaxer. Condition well. Hope this helps!

I wouldn't recommend that you do an at home relaxer! I was an at home relaxer person for a while but it can cause future damage. My hair fell out and was very damaged, which resulted in cutting it very short. It may cost a pretty penny to have it done professionally but it could save a lot of heartache in the future!
