I had hair extensions fitted by a mobile hair extensionist yesterday and the 'heat tool' that she used to melt the glue, touched my ear and has burnt it quite bad.. not only am i in some pain and discomfortable due to the burn, but my whole ear is red and where the heat tool touched my ear, it has left my ear with a slight 'in dent', which is now blistering...

on top of all that, the quality of her work at fitting the hair extensions was so poor, that i bust into tears as soon as she had left and i had to have them removed straight away. I contacted this lady an hour after she had left and she has offered to pay me £125 for the cost of the service, the actually hair extensions (which i purchased directly myself) and the removal of them, but i just wonderd if i could sue her and get compensation for the burn? my boyfriend took pictures of my ear afte she has burnt it.. please help and advice me.

In the instructions of home dyeing products it usually says a time you need to let the application work into your hair. My question is do you start timing when you start applying or do you start timing once its applied?

I have very dry, brittle, frizzy, poofy and unmanagable hair. I want to get that "shaggy" look but everytime i grow my hair out it does exactly that, it grows OUT. I go to salons and try to get the right hair products but nothing works for me. It looks like im trying to grow an afro. I have seen tons of other guys that have generally the same hair texture as me get that shaggy look but when i go for it, it looks like a fro and/or that i just dont cut my hair. I am in need of assistance!!!

My son (mixed race black/white) has been trying to grow an afro for some time but his hair though curly is quite thick and requires plaiting every night to be able to comb through the next morning, which is time consuming as he is still at school. Can his hair be thinned out without him losing length as it is about 10 cms long.

So I've been trying to get rid of the smell in my hair and nothing's been working so I think I'm going to try sulfur shampoo. I've looked online but I can't find too many places that sell it and it seems like most of the sulfur shampoos are for animals. Help please!

I always had wavy hair. Nothing you could call curly. I also colored my hair for the last 15 years. Last year, I cut it all off, and am growing it out my natural color.....some gray, but only a few streaks. But it is SO curly. Any explanation for this????

I have had them for years, and no matter how often I condition or trim it, I always find split ends in my hair, and a whole bunch of them. I belive I got them a few years ago due to the fact that I used too much hair care products. Any suggestions?
Thanks
God bless you
Stephanie

I dont know if light brown will go with my skin tone though. I'm olive-ish and mediterranean-y looking, but i turn slightly pink when exposed to the sun too much- otherwise I tan decently. My dark hair makes me look pale which is why i need to go lighter. It's so dark it doesnt look like my natural hair color- SOME ADVICE HERE!

I used to never have this problem, until I started in beauty school. At school I only use good products, and I think this is how I got my dry scalp. I used to mix it up with cheap and good stuff, but now it's just the good stuff. Now that I have dry scalp what do I do?

I am going to put clip in extensions in my hair which will be synthetic. I am going back to the hair shop to get a light blonde, then I will use Manic Panic temp hair color (electric blue or neon pink). Will this work? I know they sell hair already colored, but they don't sell the texture I need.

Okay, the question is funny........and well, stupid. But it'll help me know how to ..u know, groom my hair and wat sorta shampoos and conditioners to use. When my hair's been washed, it becomes like crazy curly (not just when it's wet, even after drying up) but once I brush it, it straightens out and is just wavy. So do I have frizzy/curly hair or wat?

I really wanna know, what does a conditioner do anyway? And which kind of conditioner works best to make my hair soft again?

Also, I want to keep a fringe but whenever I try, there will be a whole chunk of hair coming down instead of the nice thin lines.

Why is my fringe like that? I didnt use to have this problem 3 or 4 years back. My fringe is also not straight and has split ends.

What can I do to have a nice fringe like I used to again?

I'm regretting getting my hair straightened two months ago which has severely damaged my hair. Now, I want my natural wavy hair back. Is there any way I can make the chemicals go away faster? Cutting my hair is not an option since it is still fairly short (medium length).

I never would have guessed that. Since I was unable to go to my regular hairdresser the last time I needed a haircut, I went to someone else who seemed to know her stuff. Other than that one statement (which was drawn out into a lecture the entire time) which made me blink. I have used many products in the past that made my hair feel drier and stiffer than straw, that I was told by other hairdressers was because they were bad for your hair, and also name brands that you can buy only in a salon. I also noticed that when I walked out of my appt with her, my hair was really stiff like straw whereas my salon shampoo at home has never done that. Was she a bad hairdresser with lack of knowledge or are the good products really supposed to dry out your hair like she said?

My 11 year old son asked me the other day about getting a haircut. He proceeded to ask me if he could get a mohawk haircut. Do you feel it would be ok if I let him get a haircut like this? My son has a lot of hair so far at least 3'' long. He wants it to be about 1''-2'' long down the middle and yes he wants it razor shaved. I went to the barbershop about a month ago and my son watched a young boy get a mohawk. Now my son wants his haircut like this. I told him I would think abou it. What do you think?
