There are homeopathic medicines. Go to a good homeopath. Make powder of cinnamon and lick 1 or 2 pinches with honey daily. These will help to some extentto change the complexion but u can not be as white as westerners as those have different genes.

Being fair is not the identity of true beauty, be fair in heart!
You can only retain ur original fairness, incase you got tanned by sun.
Try curd-beasan powder or honey- beasan powder combination to retain ur original fairness.

Use whitening creams. They have these in Asian beauty supply stores for sure. Oh, and use sunblock every single day.
I've heard a wacky option of using hydrogen peroxide as a toner. Hydrogen peroxide bleaches, which then means that over a period of time, skin can get whiter. I don't recommend this option because I think hydrogen peroxide can severely dry out your skin and possibly age it.
