You cannot reverse any kind of chemical treatment to your hair. The only thing you can do, is wait until the highlighted part grows out, and cut it a little at a time.

If you do not want to have your roots showing, you could color the hair that is highlighted, the color of your natural shade, and then stop coloring it.

I used to color my hair all of the time when I was younger. I realized that someday, my hair will be gray or white, and then I will regret not appreciating my natural hair color. (Especially since I will be coloring over the gray!)

Yep. Color your hair your natural color. That's about all you can do. It won't hurt your hair at all.

If bleach was used for your highlights the color may lighten on the highlights and look naturally highlighted which is nice. If you don't like it once it lightens on the nightlights just color it again and that should take care of the lighter shade.

You might ask your stylist about alternatives. They know what's on your hair now, can actually see it and tell you if there's another alternative. If there's another alternative available - don't do it yourself. Have it professionally done. Coloring you can do if you follow the directions.

Really, coloring your hair won't hurt it and will accomplish what you're looking for.
