In the instructions of home dyeing products it usually says a time you need to let the application work into your hair. My question is do you start timing when you start applying or do you start timing once its applied?

I start when the dye is on all of my hair. Otherwise the last sections you color wouldn't get enough time.

usually after youve applied it all so you get an even colour as the dye stops reacting after a certain amount of time.
