Hair - February 2007

Naturally my hair is very dark brown. I have lots of different chunky blonde streaks and lighter brown streaks dyed into it.

The blonde parts after a few weeks of being dyed loose their blondeness and look browner and orangey tinged slightly. My hairdresser said its not and that im just imagining it or it looks darker as im getting used to it....but it definatly has, plus people keep asking me why ive gone darker - and im like I havent its just gone like that!!!

I use a shampoo n conditioner for dyed hair thats supposed to retain colour. I have heard you can buy purple shampoos to keep hair blonder would these work considering I also have brown streaks and dark brown streaks too, as what would it do to these parts?

So my question is - Why is my dyed blonde hair colour going darker and would special shampoos help and which ones? Thanks

I mad a stupid mistake and shaved my legs back then like a year ago and it grow back all thick and nasty looking. I regret shaving. I would of rather had my natural hair. I would just wondering if i started waxing for alittle bit, do you think it would turn out to look thiner and better then before. I dont want to get ride of all my hair i just want it to look less and seem to look better.

Im concerned if I just dye it blonde its going to go a weird state of bright brassy orange, should I dye it a light brown first then blonde?

any advice welcome!!

My hair colour is a redish/orange colour(more orange then red) and I want to die my hair, what would be a suitable colour, so it isnt too out there. I was think a very light brown, so there is still some signs of orange colour.

I had alittle dandruff so used a ketaconazole lotion but as soon as I used it my hair started to fall in clumps so I did a deep pore conditioning twice and still my hair is falling. when I comb my hair keeps on falling but the moment I oil my hair half the hair in my head falls out during the massage, i am afraid to even touch my hair,or to wash it or to oil it ? My hair is falling out. Whenever I take a shower, I have to clean off the drain because there is just tons of hair. I am always picking hair off my clothes. I know it is normal to shed, but I think this is more than the average person does. I don't have bald spots and you'd probably never know I was having an issue just by looking at me, but my hair is definitely a lot thinner now. Could it be something lacking in my diet or what? It's been going on for a couple years now.

When i saw the commercial i was glued to the T.V because it looked like it would do wonders for my hair. Im in the process of leaving perms alone im tired of what they do to my hair.

ok so i had the perfect hairstyle for me. it was layered and about three inches below my shoulders until my mom made me cut it. and now it's all short and it looks like im FIVE!! i hate it!! my layers are pretty much gone and i don't know what to do to make it look nice. how long will it take for it to grow back? what are some things i can do to make it grow faster? any products out there that are inexpensive but proven to work? and do you have any ideas of hairstyles that would look cute? no updos please. i hate my hair up.

How do I color my hair into medium blonde without ending up with brassy reddish tones?
I have med brown natural hair and it was highlighted and the highlights are now growing out. I've heard of this product at Sally's beauty supply that says "take the red out" or something like that. You're supposed to put 5 drops of it into your hair dye.....has anyone ever heard of this? Would this work if I add that to a blonde shade or should I just strip the color and dye it? I've heard if you are going to a lighter color like from brown to blonde then you need to strip the color out first then dye it. If I strip the color what product do I need to use? Can u recommend any or give me any tips?
I had thought maybe using the new feria hi- lift browns from loreal but I would really rather go to about a medium blonde
