Hair - September 2006

I have been using a 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner (Pantene) and it has dried out my hair and made it feel like straw. I started using my regular shampoo and conditioner now but my hair is still very dry. I don`t have the money to go to the salon or get special expensive conditioners or anything....so I need some home remedies. Help!

i want to dye my hair, but i dont want it to be for very long, just to see what color looks best, i was going to try Lor'eal mousse that comes in an orange can, has anyone tried it? if yes, is it worth trying?

I finished cancer treatments 2 years ago and my hair has yet to comeback as it was before. I am young, and would love to have a full head of hair again, but I am terrified if I am intimate with someone my hair will fall off and I would be mortified. I would love any information anyone can give me

For about a year now, I've being applying a half head of highlights, using a highlight cap, and Garnier summer hair (a spray that is 23% peroxide, and lightens hair using heat from hairdryers and the sun)
I want to return my hair to it's original colour (about a 6, dirty blond/light brunette)
If I dye it myself, what are the chances that the colour wont "catch" or will fade very quickly.
I know I can go to a hairstylist, but I'm hoping to do this myself.
Please let me know if you have experiance in this field.

After I sleep on it, my curls go flat. I've seen some women keep their curls looking new for a whole week. It's frustrating to sit for two hours to get it done and then have to re-do it the next day!!!

So Im going to school tomorrow which sucks but I want my hair to look good. Usually when I sleep on it nomatter how straight it looks that night I wake up and its a big curly mess. I think its because I sweat in my sleep but its always like that. How do I get it so that it will be straight when I wake up?

i have the worst kind of hair imaginable.. its a wavy curly mess.. not quity wavy and not quite curly, its just extremely out of control... i was thinking of a spiral perm or something of the sort.. who here got a perm and how did it turn out? is it worth it? would it give me great curls and stop the ongoing problems with my hair?

I have really really really thick hair which is amazingly poofy and curly….it can be frizzy if I don’t use friz control..i want it to be either str8 without the poofiness or curly without the frizz and poofiness..does anyone know what I shud do or use?! I think itd be best if it only took me about 20 minutes per day cuz I don’t want to have high maintanance hair!!!…so, please help me! THANK YOU!

I'm going to school to do hair and makeup this year, since I was young I have always enjoyed doing hair and make up. Recently I went to sallys and bought the glue in hair extensions, I put them in so I could have a mullet. Nobody seemed to have a problem with it but my dad.
everytime I come home from hanging out at a friends, or work he always has a new but negative comment about my mullet. He says "mullets were from 1986, not 2006" he says its hideous, or I look like lydia from beetlejuice, and it looks stupid.

my point is, how bad does it look in your opinion?
