I went from blond to dark, dark brown with caramel highlights but the highlights ended up looking almost yellow, yuck! That was last Wednesday. Today I went back to the stylist, asked her to cover my highlights with dark brown, then, put black in certain parts; the tips of my bangs, some of the hair on the side and the hair right above my nape. I've seen brown/black combos that I thought were cool. Unfortunately, although I explained it 3 or 4 times, I now have hair that's BLACK ALL OVER.
My question is this: am I stuck with plain black hair (I really wanted the two-colored hair!) or is there something that can be done to make a different color in certain spots? Not highlights, just the areas I already mentioned like my bangs, the sides, etc.

I got my hair chemically straightened about a month ago. I'm pretty sure she just used a relaxer. I'm thinking about buying an at home coloring kit, would this possibly make my hair curly again or are they completely different things?

In june and i love and i would try and wrap my hair evey night to avoid curling it but it would just be flat because my scarf wold come off my head,and i did not like that so i would curl it and now i think it's caught up to me beacuse my ends are fried. i know i need my ends cut but i think they are breaking off as well what should i use what should i do?? help my sisters of color...

if u highlight ur hair at the salon and then sit out in the sun for example...does the sun fade higlighted hair or make it look brighter? and if u straighten highlighted hair will the heat fade the color too?

I'm serious. I have long hair, and I decided to change it a bit. I started out with coloring. Every single colorist I went to screwed up my hair. Eventually, I learned to color my hair myself and I'm doing a better job than they did. Now, I want a hair style. Noone who I know close enough wears a good hairstyle, so asking around is no help. When you go to a hair stylist, how can you tell if they are any good?
