I was nine and I have been coloring my hair on and off ever since. I am 33 now. I have damaged hair and would love for my hair to look pretty and healthy like my daughters. I don't regret it because I love the colors I have had but I would strongly recommend anyone considering it to really think it through because the damage is done. I let both of my kids color their hair before. My 10 year old says she will never do it again because she wants her hair to stay healthy. My 14 year old loves the change. He does not care about the damage caused.

Wait as long as possible. TRUST ME! Dye can do some serious damage to your hair. Bleach is the worst. If you must dye your hair then i would ALWAYS have it done by a professional. I know what hair means to a girl, and ruining it by trying to be your own stylist isn't going to be good. My advice is wait.

I was 12 the first time I dyed my hair, but I really regret doing it now, because once you start you can't stop, or else you have to let your roots completely grow out.

Over 13, by then your hair is natural grown. You can do about anything to it without harm. As long as you dont do it to much!
