gel

Usually gel. Mousse tends to give you more body, but gel keeps things in place. And then there's always a spritz of hairspray to seal the deal!

Definitely gel. There are so many kinds you can make it so your hair doesn't move at all or still goes back into place. If you want a rock hard style then use non flavored gelatin. It sounds gross but its what you need, especially if its going to be long or tall.

Gel. It worked on my daughters super coarse, straight, thick, hair and held curls during a whol pageant with her doing gymnastics for talent. I never had to redo her hair the whold day and she had many costume changes. When she was older it worked for proms from 5pm til 1am.
