I hear sprays have alcohol which dry out your hair, and gels slow hair growth. I'd like to avoid using any types of irons cause those tend to be damaging, too.

Any other alternatives?

Sidenote: My hair is down to my lower back, and I like it that way, is it a hopeless cause?

When you use straighting irons doesnt it burn your head when you get to the roots? I know when i was little my mom would use thouse hot combs that you put on the stove and than straighten my hair so since then i have never used one im scared.

I want highlights that match my dark eyes- I don't want to look silly if I have it too light and it doesn't match me. My skin tone is fair- relatively light. I don't want reds too much, just something to lift the darkness.

My recent straghtener broke and im going out to buy a new one this weekend...ive heard of the straightener called CHI....its suppose to be good for your hair and wont dry it out ot damage your hair like the rest of them.....Ive been looking into them and they have a whole bunch of different kinds...i seen a pink one, turbo, and original and i dont remeber the rest...which one is the best one????....

I hate more than anything stubble and hair that grows on a man's neck. There are laser treatments to remove hair permanently, so that you would never have to shave it again, deal with ingrown hairs on your neck, or torture people with the horrible sight of a neck beard. Why don't you just get rid of it?

I was wondering if there is any type of Shampoos, that do not require a trip to the salon, that I could use, I have heard that there are shampoos out there for this, but most are sold at salons, and I live in a foreign country, but am making a trip to the USA this weekend, so I'm hoping I can pick something up and bring it back with me. I don't know if it makes a difference but our pool is a salt water pool, and because of that, we don't have the "green" effect that you do with chorinated pools... but it still dries her hair out beyond belief, I had to cut it short (just above shoulder length) just to be able to put a comb through it, and she was DEVASTATED, she LOVES long hair! I have been better about getting her to wash her hair almost as soon as she gets out of the pool, but I want to be sure I'm doing what's best for her hair. I would like her to be able to grow it out if she wants to.
