I have long hair and I do this: use a volumizer on your wet hair. Get your scalp and the rest of your hair. make sure you choose a good one so theres no residue or stickyness. (Try Big Sexy Hair or Volumous) You have to know how much to use on your kind of hair. Blow dry with your head upside down. Tease (really tease) with a pick sections of your hair underneath twoards your scalp in 2 inch sections. Spray each section. Let dry. then go to next one. brush your top layer so its smooth. If it still looks like a bee hive, keep brushing until you get your desired look. If you have to, go through the bottom layer you teased and tame those down too. Not just the top. You should have teased enough to still have lift. and the volumizer should work well. Spray all throgh sections of hair. Flip head upside down and hair spray. tease the ouside, spray again let dry. Flip it and brush it again. It takes patience!

Once you back comb it you need to brush it out a bit to tame the "birds nest". Anouther way to get nice volume is to use rollers. Roll your hair while it's damp & let it dry completely then take the rollers out & comb out the curl, this also prevents you from putting too much stress on your hair, back combing can cause damage :)

You need to back comb lightly, and only a little bit at a time. Then smooth it back into place and repeat the steps until you get the desired volume you would like. Are you useing a rat-tail comb?
The provided link gives good instructions.

I'm not sure how you could comb it, but have you tried fluffing it some with your hands and then taming it down with the brush? You can also try a volumizing spray. You spray it on when your hair is wet and dry it like that. I have some by Garnier Fructis.

once you've purely washed your hair positioned some hair serum on your hair i in my opinion imagine that toni-guy or john freida do the great yet loreal specialist does some depraved products. Rub the serum between your fingers and commence on the ends operating with the aid of, and use the left over on your proper layers, then use a flat paddle brush to blow dry your hair layer with the aid of layer be particular the comb isn't a bristle brush or organic fibres using the undeniable fact which will upload static to the hair, making use of the concentraed nozzle blowdry down on the hair particularly than throughout. does take a jiffy yet once you've the time you may extremely get your hair instantly in case you draw close it properly. in case you nevertheless have some flyaway hair spray your hair with warmth spray (ghd can be a lttle greasy yet good on thick or dry hair, or andrew collinge does a really mild spray) then iron the hair layer with the aid of layer ideally a good high quality straightner because a number of the more cost-effective ones can frizz the hair because there no longer warm sufficient so once you've the money ghd is the great, and somewhat of ending serum you may have silky comfortable hair!!! i desire that helps

Flip it, brush it that way, blow dry it that way (upside down) .. When you are at work or school just flip it upside down really quickly to give it more volume fast.. Kinda like headbanging
