Most people do things to calm themselves down, or make them feel content. Just being in my bathroom makes me feel safe, calm, happy, etc. So you aren't the only person who is sort of obsessed with something. Like someone else said if it is interfering with your life then there is a problem.
P.S. Um.. Who cares if he's gay he asked a question and expects an answer, not another question.

It can be possible. If you feel this is interfering with your life you may need to get a little counciling to stop. Seriously, but don't feel bad. Odd things happen with people all the time, most won't tell you though. Your problem may have nothing to do with your hair. Good luck
