Hair - July 2006

My husband likes to wear his hair collar length, but when it gets a little too long and straggly, he goes to the hairdresser. Unfortunately, they always give him a short back and sides which makes him look like a dork, and it takes 6 months for his hair to grow back to the length he prefers.

He's tried asking for a trim, for it to be tidied up, for it to be layered and styled, for them to just take 2 inches off the ends at the back, and for them to just keep it the same way, but whatever he says, it ends in him getting a short back and sides. It doesn't seem to make any difference going to a different person or a different salon.

What is the magic formula for getting a hairdresser to let you keep your chosen hair length and style? It's got to the point where he is now refusing to get his hair cut at all, and it will soon look like a haystack.

Alright I am an african american female and I often hear people say that you shouldn't use too much heat on your hair..i use a flat iron and it seems that the only way my hair will look good is if i straighten it ALOT!
