don't do either. i just discovered myself that if you shave across it is less painful, leaves less bumps, and makes it smoother. like go left to right. going against it pulls the hair and cuts into your skin(painfully). going with it just thins out the hair and doesn't even get it all off. good luck!

Ah. We keep trying with this, don't we? I followed the advice on here about daily exfoliation of the area and using conditioner there before shaving. (As well as not shaving over and over and over again trying to get it completely bare.) This approach is helping. However, when I run/swim, I still get irritation. Maybe one day we will evolve to having only decorative hair there. Until then, we must struggle. Some people wax, but when I did that, I got a buncha hickey marks all over my coochie!

Against gets me a closer shave but causes ingrown hairs on some people.

Against as much as possible. In the bikini area, hair grows in all directions, so just hack away at it.

Aughhhh. That is tricky. Depends. I do with, then against. Then exfoliate, then lots of after shave.

Always against. Make you sure you always use a fresh razor. (Sharpness, less left over stubble plus the razor's can rust)
