I have brown/black curly hair and would like to dye it blonde like shakira? Is this possible? Can I do it at home or do I have to get this done professionally? Thanks

Die it.

You would have to totally strip your hair first with a bleaching
agent....which takes 45min or so...use a kit at Sally's Beauty
called a hair stripper...or bleacher kit with a 40 developer
use a scalp protector....then use 40 developer with the color
blonde you want..use a scalp protector again and a pkt of
red/gold preventor to keep your hair from turning too yellowish
goldish or redish..use a good conditioner overnight...this is harsh
to do on your hair so I would advise going to a light or medium
brown...to get it done properly professionally costs alot of
money...yet can be done at home..you really have to know what
you are doing though and you never want to leave the hair
stripper in too long..your hair will break off and/or fall out. My
best advice is to dye your hair a lighter brown then add blonde
highlights..it is less harsh on your hair and looks great with
the blonde streaks in it!!! Good Luck

Just a FYI.....MOST of the music and movie people use EXTENSIONS.....you don't think they look good all on their own do you?

See a professional for whatever you do.

just start off frosting and go from there. A nice frosting (foils) will be a change and not so dramatic at once...you will do more and more each time but start slow......you are not shakira (you probably look better)....Be the Beautiful YOU that YOU ARE!!!!

And yes! blondes do have more fun.

It's possible but probably really hard. I'd recommend having it done professionally because you can't just go from black-ish to blonde, it will come out orange. There are stages you have to go through to get it that color, like dying it lighter and lighter and there are sometimes colors like red or green that will make it come out blonde. Your hair will probably be fried really bad by the time you're done dying it, depends how healthy your hair is. good luck.

I would get it done professionally the first time for sure. Don't mess around with your hair you could ruin it.

It will probably cost you anywhere from $50 to $100 but it is worth it. Once your hair is the color you want it, you can touch it up yourself.

Believe me....I have done some serious damage to my hair that took a long time and alot of money to fix. Save yourself alot of money, time and stress....let a professional do it the first time.

It's possible, but NOT advisable. If your hair is very dark it is a long and damaging process to get to a "true" blonde. On top of that--you were born with your hair color for a reason--that's what looks good with your features. You should never go more than two to three shades lighter or darker than your natural color.

It can be done but don't try this at home . I'd go to a professional to be on the safe side, for the sake of keeping your hair!

Yep, it is attainable - you only want some heavy-accountability bleach and a sturdy hairdresser. you would be able to wish 2 purposes of bleach, the two lasting 40 minutes to evade going ginger, yet as you will a appropriate salon i'm useful they'll do it superb for you :) sturdy success!

That is a job best left to the professionals. It can be very tricky to go that many levels lighter at home.

yes, you can bleach it. You would have to do it for about an hour though. One of the hosts of "the today show" on nbc just did it this morning... it was brown yesterday and blond today.

You should go to a salon and have it done, it will need to be bleached out first, and if you have never bleached hair before it can be tricky so I advise against doing it yourself.
