Beauty & Style - 14 September 2006

I'm 5 4', and about 53 kilos. I find that when I work out for at least 20 minutes, eat almost whatever I want moderately, and sleep for atleast 10 hours, I wake up in the morning considerably thinner. Now that school's started up again, I'm hardly getting 6 hours of sleep and finding it much harder to lose weight...what's the deal? Plus, why is it that I can gain around 3 kilos just by overeating in one meal? I find myself fatter in the night than I was when i woke up. How do I control this?

Farouk Chi or Corioliss? i'm looking for a good quality flat iron and they both seem like good candidates. one of the brands also has a wet/dry iron where it can flat iron wet hair dry. what is better... 1" or 1.5" or 2"?

I feel like I eat too much and snack too much. I hear what other people eat and think that I am overeating. I try to stop, but it's hard. What can I do? I'm not overweight, but I could be gaining some weight. Also, what are som good, accurate, practical meals and exercise plans. Not too many funky exotice leafs or run 10 miles a day. I'm going to a party tonight and I need some tips.

I have got blonde shoulder length hair, pale-ish skin and bluey-greeny-grey eyes. (seirously, they change colour when I'm in different moods.)

Sutle make-up is best as I hvae been told that i'm "stunningly beautiful" by several people (not just men who want to get me into bed!), but not wanting to boast, I wouldn't like to say this for sure.

Thanks everybody - I appricitae you're help. (Make-up must "match" red nail polish). I'll decide what I'm going to wear after I've decided on make up first.

Hi im not a Goth but i just want to know why it is that i love what the Goths wear. I can be looking on a clothing website for Goths and find loads of things I would deffinatly wear. Yet when i look in high street shops and catalogues. I cant find anything i like really like as i know that with normal Fashion i would have to match this with this and that with that. Yet with Goth it is individuality. Do you think i am a Goth at heart ? and where can i request a free Gothic clothing magazine.

Hey everyone! In the past three years, my self esteem has gone WAY down to about nothing. I've been told I'm pretty, beautiful, ect. my whole life, and used to believe it. Never ONCE in my life have I been made fun of for something about me or have been called anything but pretty. Yet, when I look in the mirror, I don't see it. Every time I go out, I immediately compare myself to the other girls in the room. I think a lot of this comes from society. Ashlee Simpson for example used to say she'd never change her self image and now look at her. All you see is a pretty face without flaws. Even though I really know these stars don't wake up like this, it's portrayed that way. I've never seen her on a cover without makeup to show the "real" her...any opinions...???

Can anyone help. I've got my new suede shoes dirty. I went the other night and at rained i stepped in a muddy puddle and now the dirt has dried up on them and i no amount of scrabbing with the suede cleaner will take the dirt off. Has anyone else got any suggests. My mate suggested putting them in soapy warm water but they might get permanently ruined. I'm all out of ideas and i really love those shoes!

Hey....I dont have horrible acne, but I get it....prolly cuz im still 18. Buuuuutt i was just wondering what other guys do for their skin. Is it true that people lose their tan during winter, even though the Earth is closer to the sun at that time?

Anyway, do they still have to wear sunblock and avoid the sun? Or does the tan go on its own?
