I have seen these in a few places. Birdseye views of cities, landscape pictures, etc. How do they make these photos look like miniatures and has this technique been used in film?

I'm an amateur photographer; I've had my Minolta for almost 4 years now, and I love it. But I want to delve more into photography, and I'm concerned that accessories I'll need (lens filters, remotes, etc.) won't be available--I've spent an hour scrounging the web, and they're already harder to find. I know I'll need to switch over sooner or later, and I guess I'd rather do it before I buy a lot of expensive gear. But I'm a college student, so I don't have a lot of cash to work with. Would you recommend buying a new camera now, or waiting? If you do think I should buy a new camera now, what brands/models can you recommend that will give me quality shots without blowing my budget? Are their good websites I can go to for cameras and photography gear? (BTW, I'd like to stick with film cameras, not digital.) Thanks a lot!!

i got this small photoshoot to do tomorrow.
But im not a professional at this yet.
What do u actually say to ur model if u both dont really know what ur doing.
Eventho i got some ideas in my head, i dont know how to tell my model how to express herself except from "feel confident" and " be yourself".
Any more suggestions??

I want to find an approach to street photography that will allow me to do this. Currently my photographs suffer from a lack of human interest. I'd love to be able to take candid shots of interesting people I see/meet without them posing or getting upset. I'm naturally good with people, but can't seem to apply it to my photography.

Hey. I have a Canon 50mm lense. Actually, it belongs to my school. I'm not completely sure what happened, apparently I dropped it or something...

The part of the lense with the actual glass on it has popped off. Is there any way to fix this or do I just have to pay for a new one? Please, if you know anything help me out!

Beginner studio: Canon Digital Rebel, two 110 w/s strobes bounced into white umbrellas. One of the strobes is PC wired in to fire with shutter release, the other is passive fill light. Both strobes set to lowest power on the dial.

Dilemma: When ISO is at 100, strobe fires but camera still takes many seconds on exposure, perhaps 4 sec. at f5.5. When ISO is set higher, exposure is quick, but picture is then blown out too bright.

I don't see other people metering and their exposures are split second, with great shots. What the heck am I missing? Also, I don't know much about metering, etc.

Thanks for your help!

Is it legal to sell your photography from your personal website? Or do you need any permitts or anything. Any help would be nice. I have been researching and cant find any answers.

I imagine you need hundreds of cameras all going off at the same time. But it looks more complicated than that.

sort of like a portrait from the late 1800's (sepia, worn out, etc).
i already got the sepia, but need the texture (what texturizer is best?)
i am looking for something that should not take me too long, since it does not need to be eextremely proffessional, just good.
any other features? thank you so much!
