Is it legal to sell your photography from your personal website? Or do you need any permitts or anything. Any help would be nice. I have been researching and cant find any answers.

Often if you are selling to people in your own state you need to charge sales tax. (Obviously states like NH and OR don't apply.) If they live in another state it is their responsibility to pay usage tax. As someone else mentioned, many photofers don't but it's at least good to know.

It's not true that if you take the picture you can do anything you want. If it's a newsworthy event on, or in the view of a public space it's a different story. But, if you plan on selling that image you are bound by certain laws. If you're selling photos of people, have them sign the model release form. This is always a VERY good idea but I would say absolutely necessary if shooting children, even teenagers. Lesser known is the property release form which is essentially the same thing but obviously having to do with locations.

If YOU took the photo, then you own the photo. If the photo has someone who's face is easily recognizable, even if it was taken in a public street, and the photo can possibly be used for commercial purposes (to sell or advertise something, product, service, place, etc) you need a release from that (or each recognizable) person. If it is a photo of a child, make sure you have parental release or you can really find your fanny in deep and hot waters!

What permits are you searching for? Photography copyright?

If you took them, you have the wrights to sell or do what ever you like; however if some body loaned to you so you can display in your website those pictures, then you need a permit from the owner of the picture, or buy his/her wrights.
You also have to declare your profits at the end of year with the tax authority.

Yes its legal to sell your own photograpy. If you are taking photo's of people it's best you have them sign something stating they are okay with you selling the photo's of them etc...

But yes, you can and I know a lot of people who do it! =-)

Sure, but legally you must collect and pay sales tax...which varies from state to stae, country to country. Most don't bother.

You sure can but make sure you trade mark it for not letting any future use by the one who buys it.
