My dream is to become a full-time photographer, and I just want some opinions of my work.
I'm fifteen years old by the way. I use a Canon PowerShot S3 IS. No tripod, no lens, nothing.

I copyrighted the last one because I'm going to try and sell it if I can, and I don't want anyone to steal it, lol.

Thanks!

sometimes I see a great photograph and try and determine the focal point. Could it be that the entire image is the focal point? I was just curious since it was something I read about composition that when taking pictures, you should have a focal point. Thanks.

In elementary school (80's), we had the choice of background for our school pictures: traditional, lasers, and the other one. The other one was a black background with the subject looking in to the camera, but there was a little profile picture of them in the corner, looking off to the side. What were these called and where can I find one?

I've just purchased it and want to try it out at a Christmas party tonight. I don't have time to read the manual. I was under the impression that if I used manual mode on my camera that the light meter's reading would be based on the flash output as well as my settings. But it doesn't seem to be working. I've only been able to get success with the flash's automatic setting if my camera is in auto. I big on choosing my own shutter speed and aperture.

I found these on the Australian Ebay, and looking at the listing I thought the plugs etc would be wrong for Australia. But, his feedback has positives from Australian buyers who've bought this item from him, so I don't know.
Does this look like rubbish to you ?

I am choosing a textbook for an introductory course in photography taught with digital tools. Having trouble finding a good textbook that will cover the basics of exposure, aperture, etc. along with helpful digital information. I don't want this to be a how to do cool digital tricks class. It is about a more real, in-depth understanding of photography. Yet I also don't want a book that is hopelessly out of date for a student using digital media. Any suggestions?

How does one get good exposure when the subjects in the frame are mostly dark (like a dark scene or a very cloudy day)? Or really bright (like a sunny Summer day on the beach at noon)? What if the frame contains parts that are really bright and really dark (like taking a picture of a tree in the shade, with the background sunny)? Thanks!!!

PS: I have a Canon XT camera, Tamron 17-50MM lens, and Canon 70-200 f4L lens. Thanks again!

As a relative newcomer to digital slr photography there is one major task I am struggling with and this is metering light. I am unsure as to at what point the camera actually meters the light. Is it when I half press the shutter when I focus ? If so, what do I do if I want to focus on one thing but meter from another area ?

Thanks

I'm looking for a good program to download to edit photos. Not only to crop or resize but also to add designs and art. I would also like to make my photos in black/white. I have Windows XP. I'm only going to download a trail version first to see how it works so if you know the site where i can get it from, that would be helpful.

Oh! and one more thing, I tried Adobe Photoshop from Download.com and I logged into the Adobe to finish the rest of the download but the site wasnt' working.

thanks =]
