"Click"? "Snap"? HELP! I'm writing an article about a local photographer for my school's newspaper. This is all I could think of for a lead LOL. If you can suggest something else photography-related feel free to suggest it!

I had a photographer photograph me nude one time and his camera kept whistling at me.

Depends on the type. SLRs make a sort of slapping noice when used at slow speeds. Point and shoot cameras are more like a light switch. My digital sounds like a spring but very briefly. In some ways they sound like an insect that gets close to your ear for a brief second and then is gone.

I've got an SLR camera, and it's like a snap... reminds me greatly of the slap-bracelets I had when I was a kid (though not as loud). My other [regular] digital it's a click-pop, and my film camera it's a muffled click.

Regardless of the actual sound, I tend to refer to it as "click".

cameras sound different depending on the brand or model. My canon eos 30D sounds more like a clunk.

Well George Eastman thought it said "Kodak", that's why he gave that name to his company.

It ACTUALLY sounds like, "Chit-kuh," only very fast. "Ch-ku" might be more like it. Not that this would help in a headline!
