That is exactly what she wanted you to feel...so I would say it's a good pic if it did it the job...

It's just one photo. Anyone can get lucky with one shot. Have her take more pics. Looks like she can have some potential for photography. Don't really know yet without seeing more work. Plus has she decided what kind of photographer . .
wedding, models, comemrcial products, photojournalism, fine art nudes????
I'm assuming models or fine art from the one pic you're showing.
If you have time checkout my portfolio . . .
www.gecoties.com/mjmedrano I shoot weddings and models

I think it would fall into the artistic realm more so than "standard" photography.

In that vein, it is neat and remeniscent of others styles.

The only thing that bothers me about it is at the very bottom, there is something in the lower right hand corner.

My opinion is that if the subject is the person, then you don't want anything else in the picture to take your attention from it.

Personally it’s not my taste in photography.

But from a technical stand point it is an interesting picture, especially if one was trying to symbolize the darker aspects of the human soul/character.

I will make one unrelated suggestion about photographs you put online, be sure to edit them and place a copyright on the picture, it wont stop thieves but at least it will slow them down from stealing the work as their own especially if you put electronic marks in difficult to remove non noticeable locations

Very expressive! Black and White photography is still the best way to get what you want out of a photograph, Good job!!!

Very creative, and dark. I would say the same thing as the other person said....remove the table at the bottom because it distracts from the subject.

Its kinda dark (eerie like)....but it drew me in the more I looked at it. I'm wondering about the message behind the photo. Does it represent exposure, disappointment and withdrawal? The use of black/white is beautiful.

Nice, very nice. I'd remove that table edge from the bottom and black it out but it is a truly haunting picture.

Can we get a bigger one?

Your pictures aren't bad, you can tell they are amateur-ish. I suggest trying to find a focus on the object. Good work! I myself am an amateur photographer and mine are just the same as yours.

Andy Warhol and David Hamilton would both be proud.

Very tiny but it SEEMS fine to me. There is a better crop. I would like to see the original full-size.
