okay.
so i'm a beginner for digital photography.
i love it so much, and i really want to take good pictures that i'm proud of. my friends have "photoshoots" sometimes, and i always think i've got some good shots, but in the end result i hate them all.

do you think i'll get better in time if i keep practicing and don't give up?

thank you :)

p.s. here's my gallery if you want to look, and see what i mean. there's nothing special about my pictures, they're so ordinary and boring.

I can never take good self photos with my digital camera

I want to get sexy/seductive/provocative, etc picture(s) taken of myself to give to my husband as a gift (between us) for christmas.

My problem is that I don't know of any photographers around my area (central Iowa) who do these types of photos. In addition, I don't have the 'attire' nor 'props' to go to a freelance photographer.

How can I find a photographer that meets my needs in Central Iowa (Des Moines area)?

How well do little cheapy lasers work?? Any problems with wavelength not showing up well?? I was thinking about using various tips to light a subject. Maybe a person, maybe refected in smoked reflective glass.

Has anyone shot a "fire twirler"(sp??). Any unforeseen problems, or suggestions??

How about fiber optic lighting? Suggestions??

Im a shy person so it takes me awhile to loosen up to people. So taking portrait pics of someone you JUST met is difficult for both me and my subject. What are some Good Icebreaking techniques
1) for me to feel more comfortable, take away some of my nervousness???
2) put the subject at ease in front of the camera to get that "natural" feeling in there pose???

I have a natural eye for photography. I have been asked to do some professional work. I am getting ready to make a camera and lens purchase. However, I lack in basic photography terminology and knowledge. An "eye" is great, but I need some education. Terms, lighting, and everything else to boot. lol.

Can anybody give me some excersies that you can do with your subject to loosen them up or make them more comfortabl infront of the camera... Scenario; I was talking pictures (nude) once of a friend of mine and she was relly nervous , I became really nervous as well (hot naked girl), im not a profesinoal, and I became really frustrated because I felt as soon as she took her cloths off she became really tense, i thaught that being the photog it was my responsability to lighten the mood or make her feel comfortable... anyways the pictures turned out horrible, so im wondering what other people do??? I let her take some pics of me, so the camera didnt feel so forieng and we made animal noises, like if you were a barn animal what noise would you make... what are some excersises that you do with your subjects???

I've had a photoblog for a few months and I know I've had about 10,000 hits or so, but just 2 comments. I know people rarely leave comments on photoblogs (unless maybe they're your friends). Does anyone have an idea where I could post requests for comments for example, by announcing it on a forum or group without seeming pushy? I noticed that the national Magazine "MAXIM'S" has a photoblog and even they rarely get comments.

Is she pretty ?
How would I make this into one of those B&W pics with one color ?

Do you like her eyebrows?

How can I do photoshop ?

Is she hot ?

Which is better Canon or Nikon ?

Should I report this photographer?

Now back to the B &W with the color accent... How do I do that ?

I do not currently have access to a dark room like I once did. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what ideas worked best for them when creating a dark room in their apartment. I have a small bathroom that could possibly work and an even larger walk in closet. Any ideas? Suggestions? Tips? Hints? Necessary items? Unnecessary items? Things that worked for them? Things that absolutely did not work? I am planning on only doing b&w photography. Do you have any suggestions on the most affordable and durable equipment?

Ever need Bubbles (airborne, or bath type) for a photoshoot, but needed to make them last for an entire set? What did you use?

How about beer suds?? How'd you get them to last, aside from drinking one to refill it (my preference)?

Need a smoky set, but no generator?? What did you use?

Any other do-it-yourself tips?? Lighting, effects, backgrounds, props??
