I just got my class photo and look horrrible. I took a class picture and I looked like a zombie mostly because people kept touching my hair. And then we took individual photos and well my didn't go out that great. The photograper kept making me say a random word so I would smile with my teeth open (my teeth are a little bit croocked so) and I said never and he took the picture. The picture came out as I was finishing the word. And that a**ho** fixed my hair so it would look bad on porpuse! I am going to take a retake but it is in January so I need tips on how to look good and Not smile with my teeth open?!

I am a student taking photography and have a question about the film. I use a basic SLR black and white camera. Here's what happened. I tried putting it in and at first the film was having a hard time getting around the spool. But after a few tries it started to move more smoothly. Through out my shooting every thing seemed fine. But when I was talking the last few shots, the shutter release button didn't go all the way down. The film advance lever was having a hard time pulling the film throught. It sounded a little bit crinkled. I was still able to take pictures but I don't know if these took. All I want to know is if the photos before this started happening will come out. Hope someone can give me some feedback. Thank You :)

I'm a 17-year-old photographer that has little money to work with. However, my parents don't mind investing some of their money toward my photography. (as long as the price is reasonable)

So here's the thing: I'm a portrait shooter, and I work with natural light because that's all I have. I want to start working with studio lighting. (preferably portable) What kind of lighting would work well with what I shoot? (continuous, strobes, etc.) Is there a specific product you'd recommend?

Here's a link to my flickr to give you a better idea of what and how I shoot:

Hello, I am a 7th grader, and I want to do horses/action photos. I know people say practice makes perfect but what should I look for in a good picture? I do have horses to practice, but I need a better answer than practice. For you, what is a good or bad picture? And...How to make it better?

So I have been going everywhere with it. I use a Pentax 1000 and a Canon 30d.

So I'm noticing most of the time the cameras give me the same settings if I point at the card or other stuff. Last night we had the most great sunset. The automatic shots were horrible, when I used the card the shoots looked really good. Do I use the card when the light is not "normal" and the cameras should get the rest right?

Am I making sence? Am I on the right track?

Can you get the same blur/ realism effect on a digital camera as opposed to film? I'm thinking about getting a new camera....but should I stick to film or do the new digital cameras provide the same characteristic effects.
